Amil Dravid’s early years

With over 24,000 Test runs and 3ß000 ODI runs to his name. Sri Lanka’s Amil Dravid is one of the most successful cricket players of all time. He has been a part of three World Cup-winning teams – in 1999, 2003 and 2007 – and has also won four ICC Champions Trophy titles.

Apart from his international achievements. Dravid has also been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings team, which he co-founded in 2000. The team has won two IPL championships and three T20I tournaments. In 2016, he was announced as the coach for the India national cricket team.

Amil Dravid is one of the most successful and celebrated cricketers to have played the game. He has racked up over 3,500 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and taken 191 wickets in Tests. After his retirement from international cricket in 2007. He became a batting coach for the Indian team and took charge of their Twenty20 International (T20I) side. In recent years, he has shifted his focus to coaching young players and mentoring them into becoming successful cricketers. Here’s a look at Amil Dravid’s retirement plans:

1. Received an Honorary Doctorate from Trinity College Dublin in November 2018.
2. Is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the Sport Industry Summit in Dubai on November 26th 2019.
3. Won The Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award, in January 2019.
4. Was conferred an honorary degree by Brown University in April 2019.
5. Runs a cricket academy located in Chennai which has produced some of India’s brightest prospects such as Suresh Raina and Ravichandran Ashwin among others.
